August 11

Yeah, quite an interesting day. I admit - I was a bit lazy today and played only ~2k hands. However, I've just found 7-card Stud. It's so interesting and makes you think, obviously, a lot less variance involved. So I've tried a little bit of FL20 Stud and won a little bit (sth like 5$ in an hour). I can play higher in a month or so, because it needs a lot smaller bankroll to play and there are soooo many fishes swimming around, making calls with wtf hands and then mucking them.

Ok, to my today's results. Besides being coolered a few times with a K-high flush to an A-high and Q-high flush to a K-high with an ace on the board (that guy shipped on the river sth like 130 bb's... He had stats like 44/35 with a high aggression rate and showed K4s for a flush) it was not bad at all after yesterday. Well, now I can fight with variance by playing some Stud during my loosing sessions.

Today: 1991 hands, +18,32$

Month: 26263 hands, -67.84$

Stats...How the hell do I play?

Here it goes. As a 6-max player I'm probably a little bit too tight. 18.9% VPIP with 16.1% PFR and 6.1% 3bet. Yeah, I probably 3bet too much, but I'm trying to 3bet weaker players in position and only 3bet OOP when I have AQ+, TT+. That works ~ 40% (my 3bet success) and I think more than 60% time I'm taking it down with a Cbet. You know, people don't like to fold too much to the 3bets @ NL5 :D Sometimes you'll see fishes stacking off with sth like A7s, when they call your 3bet OOP and flop an Ace... I'm a little bit too aggressive (is 4.14 rating a little bit off charts?..) and I certainly hate loosing pots to some 67/5 fishes when they call your 3 barrel bluff on a board of QsTs9dKsAd with 8c9c. Lol. So any critique or suggestions?

August 10

Quite a horrific day as you'd say. I was expecting a day similar to this, where all, and I mean ALL flips are going to the wrong direction. Most of the 80-20 also lost. So it's staggeringly bad day overall. You know, there should be a day when my profit and All-in EV lines will look almost the same. And clearly today was the day when they waaaay closer than I expected :D So overall - I need to man up and grind even more during this week to erase my loss over a month and especially today.

Today: 2963 hands, -30.54$ (~6 BI lower than EV line, lol. I should've been break-even according to that)

Month: 24272 hands, -86.16$

August 9

Lol, after last day I've begun today with a quite a nice run of +5 BI over first ~1000 hands. Cool? Not. After that I've experienced a terrible downswing of -5 BI over the next ~1300 hands (2nd session) and it continued to somewhat till ~2800 hands. I was in red again, so I decided to just man up and grind some more. And oh my gosh - I've reborn like a phoenix. I've grinded back to green numbers. Lol, what it takes is just to man up...

Today: 4235 hands (lolz, going to my top gear...), +12.04$

This month: 21309 hands, -55.62$

Hope to get to green this week... Well, just my hopes... NOOOOOO. My aim for this week - to go to green in total. I'll grind as much time as it takes, but I'll be in total month's profit this week.

Wish me luck, lol :)

August 8

Lol, sick day. I've started the day with a great heater - been hitting all sets, had big overpairs etc. (obv, some coolers...) - that was during my first session. After that - all went totally wrong in the next two. Couldn't hit anything at all, some steals gone bad, being rivered and called down. Sucks. And that doesn't show up in my EV graph, which still sucks. All in all, run quite bad today. So bad, that I've even tried one MTT (that PS all stars tournament, 10+1$ buy in, 11k added) and obv with all my tournament luck I was all in on the flp with my top two pair against a set. Woohoo. So lost quite a bit, I hope I can get some of that back tomorrow.

P.S. I've watched wonderful videos of Phil Galfond's "Phylosophy" series. Learned a probe bet and a triple deke tactics. Helped to win some big pots. I'd recommend you watched that :)

Today: 3665 hands, -7.04$
Month: 17074 hands, -67.66$

Running +7.65 ptbb/100!

Cheers! Just have to man up and grind...

August 7

Quite a nice day. Finally regained confidence after yesterday's performance, which is cool. Tried a new table layout and it's just amazing! 16 tabling with ease! Try this script people: SCRIPT. You won't regret that. Seriously. Silver star now. W00t :D

New August aim - to become a Gold star. It is totally possible if I keep up my tempo. Great day overall.

Cheers!

3383 hands, +24.26$

Month: 13409 hands, -60.62$

August 6

Well, not the best of the days. Currently running waaaaay above EV line, which is kind of scary. I just can't get that advantage to work. Need to really work my game so much. I even tried 16-tabling - kind of disaster, everything is too flashy. I prob need some scripts or sth (can't afford table ninja, lol). By the way, played not so much because of the basketball game on TV - go Lithuania and played a freeroll tournament @ FT, qualifier to some sort of Baltic region TV show or wtf it is. Tomorrow I'll be a silver star. Cool.

1912 hands, + 4.18$

Cya all ;)

Motivation

Motivation is so crucial in poker. You need to basically make yourself to start grinding. Sometimes force yourself. Sometimes you just need a little push to the right direction. Acknowledge, that you can be as good, as other winners. To wipe out defeat and surrender out of your head and instead of them put victory and dedication on top of your list of words.

Use this as your motivational clip : Motivation

Cheers. Now turn to grinding mood.

Thoughts on Running Bad

Geez, I've found one hell of an article that almost every poker player should read, especially those, who are just starting to look more seriously to poker. The main quote would probably be this:

1. Find a poker game that you can beat consistently(this is obviously the tough part, and this blog is aimed mainly at those who have already accomplished this)

2. Make sure you're bankrolled properly for the game

3. Shut up about running badly because honestly nobody cares. Man the **** up, and just get over it. If you're following step #2 then no downswing should ever truly matter.

4. Work your ass off

5. Profit
The full article is HERE. You'll thank me later for showing you this. Now I'll be really starting to work my ass off. Seriously.
Cheers, now I'm off for today...

August aims

So, what is the poker blog without aims. And the aims of this month are:

1. Hold the winning rate of at least 5 ptbb/100 hands.
2. Play at least 70000 hands.
3. Collect some FPP's and play those 280 FPP hyper-turbo Sunday 1/4 Million 6-max SnG's, win some money and collect some $$$ by unregistering and selling T$. I would like to collect ~50-60$ from that. No MTT's at all.
4. Watch some videos. Yeah, torrentzzz...
5. Maybe record a video (?) ._.
6. Start playing 15 tables.

Cheers... Let's grind up... You can always track me on PTR just right here.

The micro grinder blog

Hello,

I have been playing poker for about a year and I really enjoy doing that. I've been playing so many types - NLH, PLO, NLH HU, PLO HU, NLH cash, SnG and tourneys... God this is a lot of stuff. Right now I'm grinding NL5 @ Pokerstars for about 3000 hands/day by 12-tabling. Why am I creating this blog? This is why:

1. I need discipline. Seriously. Tilting is just killing me so badly...
2. Consistency. I need to play regularly and beat this game constantly.
3. Improvement. I need to get better. Really. And don't stop doing that.
4. Sharing knowledge. Everybody can share what they know and may be useful to other people. So do I. At least I hope.
5. Aim. I need to plan the future of my game.

Can't think of anything more right now. I hope this blog will be as useful for you as it should be for me. Cheers, going to play.

P.S. My inspirations is Just Grind Blog, which is created by a very good micro stakes player, who is grinding NL5 for about 800$/month (!!!!!). Sick...

P.P.S. Here are one of my recent graphs. Not too good, I guess. But it's getting better. Just need to fix my blue line, I'm calling too many on later streets (turn and river) too many times. I'm a sickly suspicious fish right now.
